Official sources come first

Each listing points to an organization page, public agency page, or official registration resource. KindMesh avoids scraped forms, anonymous reposts, and unreviewed third-party details when they cannot be tied back to the organization.

  • Prefer nonprofit, public-agency, library, school, health-system, or provider-owned pages.
  • Show official signup links instead of replacing the application process.
  • Use charity registries and official profiles for extra context, not as a substitute for current volunteer instructions.

Sensitive roles get stricter handling

Youth-facing, shelter, crisis, domestic violence, legal, health, emergency, and client-home roles stay high level in public.

  • Show service area, requirements, fit labels, and official links.
  • Do not show protected shelter locations, internal staffing details, client details, or hotline gaps.
  • Map only public-safe locations.

Verification is part of the product

Every opportunity includes a source and checked date. As the directory grows, stale links, changed requirements, and sensitive updates need review before they are published.

  • Use correction prompts on every listing.
  • Prioritize official links over copied details.
  • Make coverage gaps visible instead of pretending the data is complete.
